— Can I include custom features on my map? —
Yes, any custom features you may want are able to be added in our TerraView Map Builder.
— What is included in the price? —
Each TerraView map is custom designed for your property. Optional features such as trails, stand locations, and notes can be included if added to the TerraView Map Builder. A GPS-compatible PDF will be sent for use in the Avenza Maps app. Printed maps are professionally produced and shipping within the United States is included. Optional upgrade such as magnetic backing or the Habitat & Terrain Analysis can be added during ordering.
— What is the difference between a Heritage Map & Steward Map? —
A Steward Map is built for active land use and planning. They use an aerial-based style and are available as an all-weather, dry-erase laminated print for field use or can be printed and framed for display. Steward Maps are ideal for tracking stand locations, trails, habitat improvement, trail cameras, and other land management details.
— What can I get mapped? —
We can map any states in the lower 48. Maps can be private property, parks, public hunting areas, or anything else you may want. Feel free to reach out if you have a unique idea and Contact Us.
— Do these maps work with GPS? —
Yes, Heritage Maps & Steward Maps both work with the built in GPS on your phone or tablet. The "Avenza Maps App" allows for import of the GPS-compatible PDF, allowing you to view your location, measure, and draw while in the field.
— How does the magnetic map option work? —
The magnetic option allows your map to be used as an interactive planning tool. A thin steel backing is placed behind the printed map inside the frame, allowing small silicone magnets (Included) to attach directly to the surface. The printed map remains fully protected inside the frame while still allowing for dynamic marker placement.
— What size should I order? —
The 18"x24" Standard size is the most popular option and works well for most properties, offering a good balance between detail and display size. The 12"x16" Keepsake size is perfect for smaller spaces such as an office or desk display, while the 24"x36" Centerpiece size makes a bold statement in any cabin, lodge, or living room. If you're unsure we can help you decide, just leave us a note in your Map Order Form.
— Can I choose a different framing option? —
No, TerraView Maps are framed using a natural hardwood frame selected to compliment the vintage style. This helps maintain a consistent quality and presentation. If you prefer to use your own frame, maps can be ordered in a print only format.
